Storage & Reheating
To enjoy the best flavour and texture, we recommend storing and reheating your injera carefully after delivery.
Our injera is freshly prepared and naturally fermented, so proper storage helps maintain its softness and quality.
Storage Instructions
Refrigeration
After opening, store injera in an airtight container or sealed packaging in the refrigerator.
Best consumed within:
- 1–2 days after opening
Refrigeration helps preserve freshness and texture.
Freezing
For longer storage, injera can be frozen.
To freeze:
- place injera in an airtight freezer-safe bag or container
- separate layers if needed to prevent sticking
Can be frozen for:
- up to 2–3 months
For best results, thaw naturally before reheating.
Reheating Instructions
Injera is best enjoyed slightly warm and soft.
Gentle Reheating Method
- Lightly sprinkle a small amount of water over the injera
- Cover gently with a lid or clean cloth
- Warm on low heat for a short time
Avoid overheating, as this may dry the injera.
Microwave Method
- Wrap injera in a slightly damp paper towel or cloth
- Heat briefly in short intervals
- Serve immediately
Serving Tips
Injera pairs beautifully with:
- traditional Ethiopian dishes
- stews and lentils
- grilled vegetables
- salads and wraps
Serve warm for the best texture and flavour experience.
Freshness Note
Because our injera is naturally fermented and freshly prepared, slight variations in texture and appearance are completely normal and part of its authentic handmade character.
